Kobi Ingram

Electrical & Control Engineer EVR Motors

Kobi Ingram is an electrical machine designer since 2009, working for EVR motors ISRAEL. designed more than 100 motors over the years. Ingram works with Altair EM simulation tools since 2016. His focus is on PMSM motors advance simulation. In the past head of simulation team and project manager, Ingram received the B.sc. (Eng.) degree in electronics and electrical engineering from The Kinneret College on the sea of galilee, Israel (2009). Before, practical electric engineer (1993), IT system administrator (1999).

Leveraging Advanced Simulation Tools to Evaluate Novel Motor Topology Performance

  • EVR Motors has developed a new, innovative motor topology it calls the Trapezoidal Stator RFPM, with 3D shaped stator teeth made from soft magnetic composites
  • This patented topology enables design of motors with double the power density relative to similarly powered, state of the art radial flux motors
  • EVR’s motor was largely designed using Altair EM tools. Following prototype success, EVR R&D is continuing with Altair tools to calibrate models vs. measurements and to analyse and optimize the existing motors and numerous new motor designs
  • This presentation will review two topics, out of a long list of simulations we have performed - one dealing with iron losses under PWM excitation, the second will demonstrate rotor dimension optimization using FluxMotor & HyperStudy
