The Global Coil Winding And Electrical Manufacturing Event
Dr. Ahmed Selema received his PhD from Ghent University (UGent), Belgium. He is also a core lab member of Flanders Make, the strategic research centre for the manufacturing industry in Flanders, Belgium. He collaborates closely with various industrial companies in the EU at the EELab (UGent).
Currently working as the Technology Director at USP3D, he leads the development of electric motor windings known for their market-leading efficiency, power density, and sustainability. Giving the transformative shift to 3D printing technology, USP3D's aluminium windings are not only high-performing but also eco-efficient, contributing to lighter and greener solutions.
Dr. Selema's research interests include electrical machines and drives, electromagnetics, material characterization, energy-efficient motor design, advanced cooling & thermal management, and additive manufacturing.
Additive Manufacturing (AM) has transformed the production of electrical machine windings, unlocking innovative design possibilities and a broader range of materials. Join this session to explore cutting-edge insights and progress enabled by 3D printing in the domains of winding design, thermal management, and manufacturing processes.
The presented topics include:
